Competitor's Safety Information

In order to make the Ploughing, Hedging and Fencing competitions safe, competitors must abide by the following:

  • Competitors must confirm the safety of all their equipment and the competence of all operators as stated in the Schedule;
  • Competitors must confirm that all tractors, horses and equipment are suitable for the task and deemed in good working order;
  • All drivers and operators must be experienced and competent in the tasks being carried out and not be under the influence of alcohol or drugs;
  • All drivers and operators will maintain all round observations, especially of the Field Stewards;
  • No passengers should be carried in the cabs, unless seats are provided and then only over 13 years of age;
  • A safe stop procedure will be issued at all times to include safe parking where tractors and machines are locked up or closely supervised when not in use;
  • If using a chain saw, a certificate of competence must be produced and the relevant protective clothing worn.  The chain catcher must be in good working order.

LOADING BAY
All tractors to be unloaded in the loading bay - only 2 people allowed in at any time.

REFUELLING OF TRACTORS
Refuelling of tractors must be done in the designated refuelling area.  Spill kits must be used and disposed of appropriately.  Tractors must be cooled before refuelling.
